Capella was the first doe I sought out to improve my herd. I’d seen her sire, Old Mountain Farm Cernunnos, on Old Mountain Farms website and was always drawn to his progeny and knew I wanted that style of goat in my herd. When I realized he’d been sold to a farm in Washington I got on a waitlist to get a kid. Capella joined our herd in 2014 when she was two weeks old, she went on to be a fabulous addition to our herd, milking well and making the elite list, I have several daughters and granddaughters (though I wish I had more) before losing her much too soon at age 7 when she got a teat injury that led to mastitis.

*Capella measured 22.8” at appraisal in 2018, the doe height limit is 22.5”, with her being on the tall side we’ll be selective about what bucks she’s paired with in hopes that the resulting kids won’t be pushing the limit. In 2021 she was appraised again and measured within the height limit.
